Early Life

José María Ortigoza Ortiz, born in Paraguay, is a former professional football striker known for his dynamic playing style and goal-scoring ability. He began his football journey at Club Sol de América, where he quickly made a name for himself, showcasing his talent alongside notable players like Pablo Zeballos. His impressive performance in the Apertura 2008 tournament, where he finished as one of the top scorers, set the stage for his future career.

Career

Ortigoza's career took off when he transferred to Sociedade Esportiva Palmeiras in 2009. His journey continued with a loan to Ulsan Hyundai FC in South Korea in 2010, where he further honed his skills. The following year, he signed with Brazilian club Cruzeiro E.C. on loan, before moving to the Chinese Super League with Shandong Luneng in 2012. Despite a challenging stint in China, where he scored 2 goals in 10 appearances, he continued to pursue opportunities abroad. In March 2013, he joined Ventforet Kofu in Japan but was released after a brief period. Ortigoza returned to Cerro Porteño in 2014, marking a significant chapter in his career.

Internationally, Ortigoza represented the Paraguay men's national football team, earning his first international goals in a match against Hong Kong in November 2010, where he scored twice. His contributions to the national team and club football have solidified his legacy in Paraguayan football.
