Биография
Early Life
Pedro León Sánchez Gil, known simply as León, was born in Mula, Region of Murcia, in 1986. He began his football journey with local youth teams, Muleño CF and Nueva Vanguardia, before joining Real Murcia CF in early 2004 to complete his youth career. León made his official debut for Real Murcia's main squad on January 15, 2005, in a Segunda División match against UE Lleida. Over the next two seasons, he became a key player for the team, scoring seven goals in the 2006–07 season and helping Murcia return to La Liga after a three-year absence.
Career
León's career took a significant turn when he joined Levante UD in the summer of 2007 for £2.5 million, despite interest from clubs like Real Madrid and Chelsea. His time at Levante was challenging, as he struggled for consistent playing time and faced issues with management. In September 2008, he transferred to Real Valladolid, where he quickly became a first-choice player and made notable contributions, including assists and goals against top teams like Real Madrid.
After a successful stint at Valladolid, León returned to Getafe CF, where he played from 2009 to 2016, before moving to Pumas UNAM in 2016. He also represented the Spain national under-21 team, making his debut in 2007 and scoring in the 2009 European Championship qualifiers.
Personal Life
León carries his middle name, León, in honor of his grandfather and older brother, both of whom passed away in 2006. His family has a strong sporting background; his older brother, Luis León Sánchez, is a professional road bicycle racer, while another brother, Antonio, played indoor football. León often celebrates his goals by pointing to the sky, a tribute to his late family members.

Murcia
Born in Mula, Region of Murcia, León began playing with local Muleño CF and Nueva Vanguardia's youth teams, eventually moving in early 2004 to Real Murcia CF to finish his youth career. After a spell with the B team, he made his official debut with the main squad on 15 January 2005, in a Segunda División 5–1 loss away loss against UE Lleida, going on to play a further six matches during the season and scoring in a 3–1 win at neighbouring Ciudad de Murcia. The following two seasons, León became an integral player for Murcia, netting seven goals in the 2006–07 campaign, several from free kicks, as the side returned to La Liga after a three-year absence. In January 2007, he was rumoured to be moving to Real Madrid or Chelsea, being speculated that the latter would buy him for £3.4 million.
Levante
Despite all transfer rumours, León joined modest Levante UD in the 2007 summer for £2.5 million after rejecting an offer from to renew his contract for €1 million, a move the club found quite offensive. He often underachieved in 2007–08, starting only 11 times from 24 appearances as Levante returned to the second tier. He also ended up training alone, due to problems with management and teammates alike.
Valladolid
On 13 September 2008, Real Valladolid bought León for €300,000 after a quick negotiation. Soon becoming first choice, he provided his first assist for Fabián Canobbio on 15 November in a 1–0 home victory over Real Madrid, netting his first…

Личное
León's older brother, Luis León Sánchez, was a road bicycle racer. His other brother Antonio also played football, but the indoor variety. León was not his surname, but he carried it as a middle name in memory of his grandfather and eldest brother, who both died in 2006 (the latter in a motorbike accident), and tended to just go by the name León rather than León Sánchez (as his two brothers), also celebrating his goals by pointing to the sky.
