Career as a Player

Zé Sérgio's football career began at São Paulo FC, where he made his debut on June 13, 1976. He quickly became a key player, contributing significantly to the team's success, including a pivotal role in winning the 1980 Campeonato Paulista. Despite facing challenges such as injuries and an alleged doping case, he continued to excel. After his time at São Paulo, he played for several clubs, including Santos F.C., CR Vasco da Gama, and Kashiwa Reysol, where he showcased his skills as a forward. Notably, during his stint with Santos, he scored against notable teams in the Kirin Cup, further solidifying his reputation.

International Career
