Formation

Alanyaspor Kulübü, commonly known as Corendon Alanyaspor due to sponsorship reasons, is a professional football club based in Alanya, Antalya Province, Turkey. The club was founded in 1948 by Dr. Ali Nazım Köseoğlu and local youth, initially starting as an amateur side under the name Alanya Kalespor. The early years saw the team competing at an amateur level until they gained full affiliation in the 1965-66 season, entering the Antalya Amateur League with a red and white kit.

In May 1982, under chairman Hüseyin Arıkan, the club adopted its current orange and green colors and officially became Alanyaspor. The establishment of Turkey's professional TFF 3. Lig in 1984-85 marked a significant milestone as Alanyaspor became the first professional team from Alanya, coinciding with the completion of the Alanya Oba Stadium.

Breakthrough

The club achieved its first major success in the late 1980s, winning their TFF 3. Lig group in the 1987-88 season and earning promotion to the TFF 2. Lig. Alanyaspor continued to make strides, reaching the sixth round of the Turkish Cup in the 1993-94 season. After a brief relegation, they returned to the TFF 3. Lig as champions in 2003-04. The club's persistence paid off in the 2015-16 season when they won the play-offs in the 1. Lig, securing their place in the Süper Lig, where they have competed since.

Legacy

Alanyaspor has made a name for itself in Turkish football, with notable achievements including a Turkish Cup runners-up finish in the 2019-20 season. The club's home matches are held at the Alanya Oba Stadium, which has a capacity of 9,789, providing a compact and vibrant atmosphere for fans.
