Amir Karić is a Slovenian football coach and former player, known for his versatility on the field as a defender and midfielder. Born in Slovenia, he began his football journey at a young age, eventually making a name for himself in the domestic leagues.

Career

Karić's professional career took off when he joined NK Rudar Velenje in 1991, where he played until 1993. He then moved to NK Maribor, where he had a successful stint from 1993 to 1997, before returning for a brief period in 1999-2000. His impressive performances caught the attention of international clubs, leading to a move to Gamba Osaka in Japan in 1997. After a year, he returned to Slovenia and continued to play for various clubs, including a notable period at Ipswich Town F.C. in England from 2000 to 2002, where he faced challenges with limited appearances.

Karić also had a significant international career, debuting for the Slovenia national team in 1996. He earned 64 caps and scored one goal, representing his country in major tournaments like the 2000 UEFA European Championship and the 2002 FIFA World Cup. His international experience enriched his playing style and contributed to his development as a coach after retiring from professional play.
