Claudio Biaggio

Early Life

Claudio Darío Biaggio was born in Santa Rosa, La Pampa, Argentina. He embarked on a career in football, showcasing his skills as a forward. His journey in professional football began in 1986 when he joined Club Atlético Belgrano, where he played until 1988.

Playing Career

Biaggio's career spanned over two decades, during which he played for several clubs across Argentina and abroad. After his stint at Belgrano, he moved to Club Atlético Peñarol in Uruguay (1989-1990) and then to Danubio F.C. (1990-1992). He had notable periods at San Lorenzo de Almagro, where he played from 1992 to 1996 and again from 1997 to 1999, winning the Argentine Primera División in the 1995 Clausura. His international experience included a brief period with FC Girondins de Bordeaux in France (1996-1997) and a season with Avispa Fukuoka in Japan (2001). Biaggio also represented the Argentina national team in 1995.

Coaching Career

Transitioning from player to coach, Biaggio began his coaching career at San Lorenzo, initially as a youth coach before taking charge of the reserve team in January 2014. He was appointed interim manager of the first team in November 2017 and later became the permanent manager. His tenure included 43 matches, with a record of 19 wins, 13 draws, and 11 losses. In February 2020, he took on the role of manager at Chacarita Juniors, continuing his contributions to Argentine football.
