Early Life

Daiki Hashioka is a Japanese professional footballer known for his versatility on the field, primarily playing as a right-back or centre-back. He was born into a family with a strong athletic background; he is the younger brother of fellow footballer Kazuki Hashioka and the cousin of long jump athlete Yuki Hashioka. This familial connection to sports likely influenced his early passion for football.

Career

Hashioka began his professional career with Urawa Red Diamonds in 2017, where he made a significant impact by debuting in the J.League Cup against Cerezo Osaka. His talent shone through when he scored twice in a crucial AFC Champions League match against Buriram United in 2019, showcasing his potential on an international stage.

In 2021, he moved to Sint-Truidense V.V. on loan, marking his entry into European football. He later joined the club permanently and scored his first goal for them in September 2023. Hashioka made history on January 30, 2024, by signing with Luton Town, becoming the first Japanese player in the club's history. His time at Luton included a notable debut against Manchester City, although it was marred by an own goal.

Following a challenging period with Luton, Hashioka signed with SK Slavia Prague in June 2025. He continued to pursue opportunities in Europe, joining Borussia Mönchengladbach on loan in July 2026, furthering his career in the Bundesliga.

International Career

On the international front, Hashioka made his debut for the Japan national team on December 10, 2019, in a match against China, after progressing through various youth teams.
