Evair's professional career kicked off in 1985 with Guarani Futebol Clube, where he played until 1988. He then moved to Atalanta BC in Italy, where he showcased his skills from 1988 to 1991. After returning to Brazil, he had notable stints with Sociedade Esportiva Palmeiras, where he became one of the club's all-time top scorers with 125 goals, and CR Vasco da Gama, contributing to their 1997 Brasileirão Série A title. Throughout his career, Evair played for several clubs, including Yokohama Flügels, Goiás Esporte Clube, and Figueirense Futebol Clube, among others. He also represented the Brazil national team from 1992 to 1993, participating in the CONMEBOL Pre-Olympic Tournament and the Pan American Games.
