Junya Tanaka

Early Life

Junya Tanaka was born in 1987 in Japan and grew up with a passion for football. He pursued his education at Juntendo University, where he also began to make his mark in the sport. During his graduation year, he played as a specially-designated player for Kashiwa Reysol, making 9 appearances in 2009.

Career

Tanaka's professional career took off when he joined Kashiwa Reysol in 2009, where he played until 2014. During his time with Reysol, he achieved significant success, including winning the J1 League in 2011 and the Emperor's Cup in 2012. In June 2014, he signed a five-year contract with Sporting CP in Portugal, marking a pivotal moment in his career as he transitioned to European football. After a brief return to Kashiwa Reysol in 2016, he continued his career with Vissel Kobe from 2017 to 2021, where he added more accolades to his name, including the Emperor's Cup in 2019.

In 2022, Tanaka joined FC Gifu, continuing to showcase his skills as a forward. Throughout his international career, he represented the Japan men's national football team from 2012 to 2014, contributing to the team's efforts on the global stage.

Personal Life

Off the pitch, Junya Tanaka married model Manami Ui on December 21, 2013. The couple welcomed their first child on July 16, 2014, marking a joyful chapter in his personal life. Tanaka's journey in football has not only been about his achievements on the field but also about building a family and balancing his professional commitments with personal happiness.
