Early Life

Maximilian Mittelstädt was born in 1997 in Germany, where he began his football journey at the tender age of five. He started in the youth team of SC Staaken before moving to Hertha 03 Zehlendorf, showcasing his talent early on. In 2012, he joined the youth ranks of Hertha BSC, where he honed his skills and developed into a promising player.

Career

Mittelstädt made his professional debut for Hertha BSC on March 2, 2016, in a Bundesliga match against Eintracht Frankfurt, coming on as a substitute in the 90th minute. His first competitive goal for the club came on October 30, 2018, during a DFB-Pokal match against SV Darmstadt 98, contributing to a 2-0 victory. Over the years, he represented various German national youth teams, including the U18, U19, U20, and U21 squads, before making his senior debut for the Germany national team on March 23, 2024, against France. He scored his first international goal just three days later in a match against the Netherlands.

In June 2023, Mittelstädt signed a three-year contract with VfB Stuttgart, where he quickly made an impact. During the 2023-24 season, he achieved the highest dribbling success rate in the Bundesliga at 61%, playing a crucial role in Stuttgart's qualification for the UEFA Champions League. His impressive performances led to a contract extension until June 2028.

Legacy

Mittelstädt's contributions to football have not gone unnoticed; he was awarded the Fritz Walter Medal U19 Bronze in 2016. As he continues to develop his career, he has already made a significant mark in both club and international football, with aspirations for future success in the UEFA Euro 2024 and beyond.
