Rika Masuya

Early Life

Rika Masuya was born on September 14, 1995, in Matsushige, Tokushima, Japan. She showed an early interest in football, which led her to pursue her passion at the JFA Academy Fukushima, where she honed her skills and prepared for a professional career in the sport.

Career

Masuya began her professional journey in 2014 when she joined INAC Kobe Leonessa, where she played until 2020. During her time with the club, she developed her abilities as a midfielder and contributed significantly to the team's success. In addition to her club career, Masuya made her mark on the international stage. She was selected for the Japan U-17 national team in September 2012, participating in the 2012 U-17 World Cup. Her senior debut for the Japan national team came on September 13, 2014, against Ghana when she was just 18 years old. Masuya played a vital role in the national team, participating in the 2014 Asian Games, where Japan secured a second-place finish, and the 2018 Asian Cup, where they emerged as champions. By 2018, she had played 27 games and scored 6 goals for her country.

Later Career

In 2021, Rika Masuya transitioned to Sanfrecce Hiroshima Regina, continuing her professional career and further establishing her presence in Japanese women's football. Her journey reflects her dedication to the sport and her evolution as a player, showcasing her talent and commitment to football on both club and national levels.
