Early Life

Satoru Yamagishi was born on May 3, 1983, in Chiba, Japan. He began his football journey in the youth ranks of JEF United Ichihara, where he honed his skills and developed a passion for the game.

Career

Yamagishi made his professional debut for JEF United Chiba in 2003, initially playing as a right midfielder before transitioning to a left midfielder role in 2005. His contributions helped the team secure the J.League Cup titles in 2005 and 2006. In 2008, he transferred to Kawasaki Frontale, where he experienced significant team success, finishing as runners-up in the J1 League in both 2008 and 2009. However, his playing time diminished, leading to a move to Sanfrecce Hiroshima in 2010. At Sanfrecce, Yamagishi enjoyed a successful stint, winning the J1 League championship in 2012, 2013, and 2015, although his appearances became limited towards the end of his tenure.

In 2016, he joined Oita Trinita, competing in the J3 League, where he helped the club achieve promotion to the J2 League by winning the league title that same year. Yamagishi's career reflects his adaptability and resilience in the competitive landscape of Japanese football.

National Team Career

Yamagishi's international career began with the Japan U-20 national team, where he participated in the 2003 World Youth Championship. He made his senior debut on October 4, 2006, in a friendly against Ghana and was part of the squad for the 2007 Asian Cup, where he played in two matches. Over his international career, he earned 11 caps for Japan until 2008, showcasing his talent on the international stage.
