Tameo Ide was born on November 27, 1908, in Shizuoka, Japan. Growing up in a country where football was gaining popularity, Ide developed a passion for the sport that would shape his future. He pursued his education at Waseda University, where he honed his skills and deepened his understanding of the game.

Career

Ide's football career took off when he joined the Tokyo OB Club, where he played as a midfielder. His time at the club was marked by significant achievements, including winning the prestigious Emperor's Cup in 1933 alongside teammates Shiro Teshima and Teiichi Matsumaru. Ide's talent did not go unnoticed, and in May 1930, he was selected to represent the Japan men's national football team at the Far Eastern Championship Games held in Tokyo. During this tournament, he made his debut on May 25 against the Philippines, contributing to Japan's victory in the championship.

Legacy

Tameo Ide's contributions to Japanese football were significant during a formative period for the sport in the country. He passed away on August 17, 1998, at the age of 89, leaving behind a legacy as a pioneering figure in Japanese football history. His journey from a young boy in Shizuoka to a national team player serves as an inspiration for future generations of athletes in Japan.
