Ferreyra's professional career took off at Racing de Córdoba, where he played from 1984 to 1988. He then moved to San Lorenzo de Almagro, contributing to the team from 1988 to 1991. His talent caught the attention of international clubs, leading him to Dundee United F.C. in Scotland from 1991 to 1993. After his stint in Scotland, he returned to Argentina, playing for several clubs including Club Atlético Belgrano, Talleres de Córdoba, and Argentinos Juniors. Notably, he also had a brief period with Urawa Red Diamonds in Japan in 1993. Ferreyra made a mark on the national stage as well, representing the Argentina men's national football team in 1991, where he made two appearances.
