Waichiro Omura was born on January 1, 1933, in Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. He pursued his education at Rikkyo University, where he developed his passion for football, laying the groundwork for his future career in the sport.

Career

After graduating, Omura began his professional journey with Tanabe Mitsubishi Pharma SC, where he honed his skills as a midfielder. His talent on the field soon caught the attention of national selectors, leading to his selection for the Japan men's national football team. Omura made his international debut on June 3, 1956, during the qualification for the 1956 Summer Olympics against South Korea. He continued to represent Japan at the Olympics in Melbourne later that year and also participated in the 1958 Asian Games. Over the course of his international career, he played a total of five matches for Japan until 1958, contributing to the growth of football in the country.
