Yeni Malatyaspor, originally founded in 1986 as Malatya Belediyespor, is a professional football club based in Malatya, Turkey. The club's colors have evolved from their original orange and green to the current yellow, black, and red. Over the years, Yeni Malatyaspor has made a name for itself in Turkish football, competing in various leagues.

Recent History and Challenges

In the 2016-17 season, the club achieved a significant milestone by finishing as runners-up in the TFF First League, showcasing their competitive spirit. However, the club faced challenges in 2022 when chairman Adil Gevrek resigned, coinciding with the team's relegation to the TFF First League. The situation worsened in 2023 when goalkeeper Ahmet Eyüp Türkaslan tragically lost his life due to a building collapse during the Turkey-Syria earthquake. Following this disaster, the club withdrew from the league due to severe damage to its facilities, marking a difficult period in its history.

Legacy and Achievements

Despite the recent setbacks, Yeni Malatyaspor has notable achievements, including winning the TFF Second League in the 2014-15 season and being crowned play-off champions in the TFF Third League in 2009-10.
