Al Ahli FC

Formation

Al-Ahli Saudi Football Club, commonly known as Al-Ahli, was founded in 1937 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, by a group of students from Al-Falah School. Their vision was to create a sporting institution that would represent the city and promote organized football activities. In its early years, Al-Ahli participated in regional competitions in the Western Province, gradually establishing itself as one of the strongest teams in Jeddah and playing a pivotal role in the development of organized football in Saudi Arabia.

Growth and Domestic Prominence

The 1950s marked a significant period for Al-Ahli as the club began to achieve notable success in domestic tournaments. They won their first major title, the Crown Prince Cup, during the 1956–57 season, which heralded their emergence as a competitive force in Saudi football. Throughout the late 1950s and early 1960s, Al-Ahli consistently competed for national honors and contributed players to the Saudi national team, becoming known for their technical style of play and commitment to youth development.

Golden Era

The club's golden era unfolded during the 1960s and 1970s, where they solidified their status in Saudi football. Al-Ahli's success continued to grow, and they became a dominant force in the league, winning a total of 37 titles throughout their history. This period not only showcased their competitive spirit but also their influence on the sport in the region, as they helped shape the future of football in Saudi Arabia.

In 2025, Al-Ahli unveiled a new logo, adapting to a Saudi law that restricts the use of the national emblem for commercial purposes, marking a new chapter in their storied history.
