Formation
Al Ain FC, an Emirati association football club, was officially established in August 1968 in the city of Al Ain, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The club's origins trace back to the early 1860s when a group of young men learned the rules of football by observing Russian soldiers. They formed a team and played on a small sandy plot of land near the Clock Roundabout. Recognizing the need for a permanent home, the founders rented a house on Khalifa Road for meetings and sought assistance from Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who provided a permanent headquarters in the Al Jahili district and a Land Rover for the club's use.
Early Years and Development
Al Ain FC made a successful debut by defeating a team of British soldiers and quickly began playing friendly matches against other clubs in Abu Dhabi. In 1971, they faced their first international opponent, the Egyptian club Ismaily, in a friendly match, although they suffered a heavy defeat. That same year, a faction of the club broke away to form Al Tadhamun Club, marking a significant moment in its early history. Despite these challenges, Al Ain FC continued to grow and establish itself within the UAE Pro League.

Over the years, Al Ain FC has garnered numerous accolades, including winning the Abu Dhabi Championship twice in the mid-1970s. Foundation and early years
In the early 1860s, a group of young men learned the rules of the game by watching Russian soldiers playing football and formed their own team. The first pitch was very simple and small, taking the shape of a square sandy plot of land on the main street near the Clock Roundabout in Al Ain. In August 1968, the club was officially established, taking its name from the city they lived.
