Биография

Early Life

Alejandro "Álex" Remiro Gargallo was born in Cascante, Navarre, Spain. He began his football journey at a young age, joining the youth system of Athletic Bilbao in 2009 when he was just 14 years old. His early dedication to the sport laid the foundation for a promising career ahead.

Career

Remiro made his senior debut with Athletic Bilbao's farm team during the 2012–13 season in the Tercera División. His talent quickly shone through, and by May 2014, he was promoted to the reserves in the Segunda División B, where he became the first-choice goalkeeper. His impressive performances helped the team return to the Segunda División after a 19-year absence.

In August 2015, he made his professional debut in La Liga, but it was in 2016 that he was loaned to Levante UD for a year. After a brief return to Athletic Bilbao, he was loaned again, this time to SD Huesca, where he played a crucial role in their historic promotion to La Liga. Following his time at Huesca, Remiro returned to Athletic but faced contract negotiations that led to Unai Simón taking the starting position. In 2019, he joined Real Sociedad, where he continues to play as a goalkeeper.

On the international stage, Remiro represented Spain at the under-19 level and was called up to the senior national team in November 2023. He made his debut in March 2024 and was part of the squad that won the UEFA European Championship later that year.

Legacy

Throughout his career, Remiro has achieved significant milestones, including winning the Copa del Rey with Real Sociedad and being part of the Spanish national team that triumphed in the UEFA European Championship in 2024. His journey from youth football to becoming a key player in La Liga and for the national team showcases his growth and dedication to the sport.
