Career

Lopes began his professional career at Criciúma Esporte Clube in 1994, where he played until 1995. He then moved to S.C. Corinthians Paulista for a season before joining Sport Club do Recife in 1997. His career continued to flourish as he played for several clubs, including Goiás Esporte Clube, Fluminense F.C., and Spartak Moscow. Notably, he represented the Brazil men's national football team from 1995 to 1996, further establishing his reputation in the sport.

Throughout his career, Lopes had stints at various clubs, including a return to Criciúma Esporte Clube in 2006 and a brief period with Guarani Futebol Clube in 2008.
