B68 Toftir is a Faroese football club established in the village of Toftir on the island of Eysturoy. The club made its mark in Faroese football after being promoted to the 1. deild (now known as Effodeildin) in 1980. Their early years in the league were marked by significant success, as they clinched the league title three times in the 1980s and early 1990s, specifically in 1984, 1985, and 1992.
Challenges and Relegation
Despite their early triumphs, B68 Toftir faced challenges in the following years. In 2004, the club was relegated from the Premier Division, but they made a strong comeback in 2005 by finishing first in the second division, which allowed them to return to the top flight. However, their stay was short-lived as they were relegated again at the end of the 2006 season.
Recent Years
The club bounced back in 2007, winning the second division once more and earning promotion. In the subsequent seasons, B68 Toftir had mixed results in the Premier League, finishing 6th in 2008, 4th in 2009, and fluctuating between 6th and 7th place in the following years. They won the match 4–1, but it was not enough. They played in 1. deild in 2013.
