Carlos Eduardo Marangon, widely known as Edu Marangon, is a retired Brazilian football player and manager who made significant contributions to the sport as a midfielder. Born in Brazil, Edu began his football journey at Associação Portuguesa de Desportos, where he played from 1984 to 1988, laying the foundation for a successful career in football.

Playing Career

Edu's career took off as he joined several prominent clubs, including Flamengo, where he played 15 games, and Palmeiras, where he made a notable impact with 54 appearances and nine goals. His time at Santos was marked by two separate stints, and he also had a brief but impactful period in Italy with Torino. In 1993, Edu moved to Japan to play for Yokohama Flügels, where he achieved a remarkable feat by scoring twice and assisting two goals in a 6-2 victory over Kashima Antlers in the Emperor's Cup final on January 1, 1994. He also represented the Brazil men's national football team from 1987 to 1990, showcasing his talent on an international stage.

Managerial Career

After retiring from professional play, Edu transitioned into management, starting in 1999 with Internacional-SP. He went on to manage several clubs, including Paraná Clube and Juventus, demonstrating his commitment to developing the next generation of football talent.
