Emi Yamamoto

Early Life

Emi Yamamoto was born on March 9, 1982, in Miura, Japan. From a young age, she showed a passion for football, which led her to pursue a career in the sport. After graduating from high school, she took a significant step in her football journey by joining Tasaki Perule FC in 2000.

Career

Yamamoto quickly made a name for herself in the football community, earning the Best Young Player award in her debut season. During her time with Tasaki Perule FC, the club achieved notable success, winning the L.League championship in 2003 and finishing as runners-up four times. However, the club faced financial difficulties and was disbanded in 2008. Following this, Yamamoto expanded her horizons by playing in the United States and Italy before returning to Japan in 2014 to join Yokohama FC Seagulls, later known as NHK Spring Yokohama FC Seagulls.

In addition to her club career, Yamamoto made significant contributions to the Japan women's national football team. She debuted on January 12, 2003, against the United States and participated in the 2003 AFC Championship, the 2003 World Cup, and the 2004 Summer Olympics. Over her international career, she played 22 matches and scored four goals for her country until 2004.
