FC Infonet

Formation and Early Years

FC Infonet, an Estonian football club based in Lasnamäe, Tallinn, was founded in 2002. The club quickly made its mark in the Estonian football scene, merging with Esiliiga club FC Atletik before the 2011 season. This strategic move aimed to bolster their competitive edge, and they finished the 2011 season in second place, narrowly missing promotion after losing in the play-offs to Kuressaare.

Rise to Prominence

Infonet's persistence paid off in 2012 when they won the Esiliiga, earning promotion to the top tier, Meistriliiga. Their debut season in the Meistriliiga was commendable, finishing in 6th place. A highlight of their history occurred on July 13, 2015, when they achieved a staggering 36-0 victory over amateur side Virtsu in the Estonian Cup, equaling a long-standing record for the largest margin of victory in football.

Achievements and Legacy

The club's crowning achievement came in 2016 when they won their first Meistriliiga title, amassing an impressive 80 points. Infonet also made their European debut in the 2016–17 UEFA Europa League, although they were eliminated by Heart of Midlothian. Following the 2017 season, the club announced a merger with Levadia, which led to their automatic relegation to the II liiga. Despite this setback, Infonet's legacy includes a Meistriliiga championship, an Esiliiga title, and an Estonian Cup victory, marking them as a significant player in Estonian football history.
