Formation

Hércules CF, officially known as Hércules de Alicante Club de Fútbol, S.A.D., was founded on 25 October 1922, although its roots trace back to 1914. The club was established by Vicente Pastor Alfosea, affectionately known as "El Chepa," who named the team after the legendary Greek hero Hercules, symbolizing strength and invincibility. Initially, the team played in various locations around Alicante, donning white and red striped shirts with black pants. The club's first official match took place on 22 June 1919, where they triumphed over Athletic Club Benaluense in the Copa Excelsior, marking the beginning of their competitive journey.

Golden Age

Hércules CF experienced significant growth and transformation after the dissolution of its predecessor, Club Natación Alicante. The club adopted its iconic blue and white colors and absorbed Natación's players, youth academy, and fanbase, quickly establishing itself as the premier football team in Alicante. Over the years, Hércules has competed in various leagues, including La Liga, LaLiga 2, and the Segunda División B, showcasing its resilience and adaptability in Spanish football. The club currently plays in the Primera Federación and hosts its home games at the Estadio José Rico Pérez, which has a capacity of 29,500.
