Shinojima's football career took off in May 1930 when he was selected to represent the Japan national team at the Far Eastern Championship Games held in Tokyo. During this tournament, Japan emerged victorious, and Shinojima made his debut on May 25 against the Philippines. He showcased his talent by scoring a goal against the Republic of China on May 29, contributing to Japan's success in the competition. Throughout this tournament, he played two matches and scored one goal, marking a significant milestone in his athletic career.

Legacy

Hideo Shinojima's contributions to football were recognized with several prestigious awards, including the Medal with Blue Ribbon in 1969 and the Grand Cordon of the Order of the Sacred Treasure in 1975. His legacy in Japanese football was further cemented when he was inducted into the Japan Football Hall of Fame in 2006, honoring his impact on the sport and his role in Japan's early football history.
