Hiroshi Ninomiya was born on February 13, 1937, in Tokyo, Japan. He pursued his education at Keio University, where he developed a passion for football that would shape his future career.

Playing Career

Ninomiya began his professional football journey in 1959 when he joined Mitsubishi Motors. He played as a forward and was a key player for the Urawa Red Diamonds from 1959 to 1968, participating in 45 league matches and scoring 8 goals. His national team career started on December 25, 1958, when he debuted against Hong Kong while still a student. Over the next few years, he became a regular player for the Japan national team, playing 12 matches and netting 9 goals until 1961.

Coaching Career

After retiring as a player in 1968, Ninomiya transitioned into management. Club career

Ninomiya was born in Tokyo on February 13, 1937. After graduating from Keio University, he joined Mitsubishi Motors in 1959. In 1965, Mitsubishi Motors joined new league Japan Soccer League. He retired in 1968. He played 45 games and scored 8 goals in the league.

National team career

On December 25, 1958, when Ninomiya was a Keio University student, he debuted for Japan national team against Hong Kong. In 1959, he played 9 games and scored 9 goals as a regular player. He played 12 games and scored 9 goals for Japan until 1961.

Coaching career

In 1967, Ninomiya played for Mitsubishi Motors, he became a playing manager as Tomohiko Ikoma successor and managed until 1975. In 9 seasons, the club won the champions 2 times (1969 and 1973) and 2nd place 4 times. The club also 1971 and 1973 Emperor's Cup. After Japan national team failed to qualify for 1976 Summer Olympics in April 1976, Ninomiya became a manager for Japan national team as Ken Naganuma's successor. Ninomiya managed at 1978 World Cup qualification and 1978 Asian Games. He resigned after 1978 Asian Games. In 2015, Ninomiya was selected Japan Football Hall of Fame.

Playing career

Ninomiya was born in Kumamoto Prefecture on April 11, 1969. After graduating from the University of Tsukuba, he joined Urawa Reds in 1992. In 1992, he moved to Uruguayan club Danubio on loan. In 1993, he returned to Urawa Reds and played many matches as a forward. In 1994, he did not make any appearances and so he moved to Regional Leagues club Prima Ham Tsuchiura (later Mito HollyHock). In 1997, the club was promoted to Japan Football League. He retired at the end of the 1997 season.

Coaching career

After retirement, Ninomiya started his coaching career at Mito HollyHock in 1998. He served as coach under manager Toshiya Miura. In 1999, he succeeded Miura as manager. The club finished in 3rd place in 1999 Japan Football League and was promoted to J2 League. However, he did not have a license to manage in the J.League, and returned to being a coach. He left the club at the end of the 2000 season.
