Kazumi Tsubota

Early Life

Kazumi Tsubota was born on January 23, 1956, in Nagasaki Prefecture, Japan. He pursued his education at Hosei University, where he honed his skills in football, setting the stage for a promising athletic career.

Club Career

Tsubota began his professional journey in 1979 when he joined Yanmar Diesel, now known as Cerezo Osaka. Over the course of his 13-year tenure with the club, he made a significant impact, playing in 170 league games. His contributions helped the team secure the league championship in 1981, as well as victories in the JSL Cup in 1983 and 1984. Tsubota's dedication and performance on the field were instrumental in establishing Yanmar Diesel as a formidable force in Japanese football.

National Team Career

In addition to his club success, Tsubota represented the Japan men's national football team from 1981 to 1984. He made his debut on March 8, 1981, in a match against South Korea. Tsubota was part of the squad that competed in the qualification rounds for the 1984 Summer Olympics, ultimately playing in 7 international matches before his retirement from national duties in 1984. His contributions to the national team further solidified his legacy as a key figure in Japanese football history.
