Keiji Tamada is a Japanese former professional footballer born in Japan, who made a significant impact in the world of football as a forward. He began his football journey at Narashino High School, where he honed his skills before joining Kashiwa Reysol in 1999. His debut match was against Avispa Fukuoka on March 13, 1999, marking the start of a fruitful career in professional football.

Club Career

Tamada's career at Kashiwa Reysol spanned from 1999 to 2005, during which he contributed to the team's success, including winning the J.League Cup in his debut year. His performance improved significantly, especially in the latter half of the 2002 season, leading to his selection for the Japan national team in 2004. In 2006, he transferred to Nagoya Grampus, where he played a crucial role in the team's journey to the AFC Champions League semifinals in 2009 and helped secure the J1 League Championship in 2010. After a brief stint with Cerezo Osaka in 2015, he returned to Nagoya Grampus in 2016 and later moved to V-Varen Nagasaki in 2019.

International Career

Tamada's international career began with his debut for the Japan national team in a 2006 FIFA World Cup qualification match against Singapore on March 31, 2004. He was instrumental in Japan's success at the 2004 AFC Asian Cup, scoring three goals and helping the team secure the top position. He also represented Japan in the 2006 FIFA World Cup, scoring against Brazil, and contributed to the team's qualification for the 2010 World Cup, where he played in two matches.
