Kikuzo Kisaka was a Japanese football player who made significant contributions to the sport in Japan during the early 20th century. After graduating from Kobe Higher Commercial School, he began his football career, showcasing his skills as a forward.

Career

Kisaka played for Osaka SC, a club that was home to many notable players of his time, including Kiyoo Kanda, Shiro Azumi, and Fukusaburo Harada. His career took a pivotal turn in May 1923 when he was selected to represent the Japan national team at the Far Eastern Championship Games held in Osaka. This event marked a significant milestone in Japanese football history, as it was Japan's first participation in an International A Match. On May 23, 1923, Kisaka made his debut against the Philippines, followed by a match against the Republic of China the next day. Unfortunately, Japan lost both matches, with scores of 1-2 against the Philippines and 1-5 against the Republic of China. Despite the losses, Kisaka's involvement in these matches was a crucial step in the development of football in Japan, as he played a total of two games for the national team in that year.
