Mito Isaka

Early Life

Mito Isaka was born on January 25, 1976, in Saitama Prefecture, Japan. From a young age, she showed a passion for football, which would lead her to a successful career in the sport.

Career

Isaka began her professional journey in 1994 when she joined the L.League club Urawa Red Diamonds Ladies. Her talent was quickly recognized as she was awarded the Best Young Player award in her debut season. In 1995, she transferred to Prima Ham FC Kunoichi, which later became known as Iga FC Kunoichi Mie. During the 1999 season, Isaka had a standout year, scoring 21 goals and earning the title of top scorer, along with the MVP award. She was also named to the Best Eleven three times, in 1999, 2000, and 2003, solidifying her status as one of the top players in the league.

Isaka's international career with the Japan women's national football team began on June 15, 1997, when she made her debut against China. She represented Japan in several prestigious tournaments, including the 1998 and 2002 Asian Games, the 1999 and 2001 AFC Championships, and the 1999 World Cup. Over her international career, she played 46 matches and scored 15 goals for her country until 2002.
