Mitsunori Yoshida

Early Life

Mitsunori Yoshida was born on March 8, 1962, in Kariya, Japan. He pursued his passion for football at Kariya Industrial High School, where he honed his skills and prepared for a professional career in the sport.

Career

In 1980, Yoshida joined the Japan Soccer League side Yamaha Motors, which later became known as Júbilo Iwata. Over his 15-year tenure with the club, he made a significant impact, playing a total of 275 league matches and scoring 35 goals. His contributions helped the team secure the 1982 Emperor's Cup and the 1987–88 Japan Soccer League title. Yoshida remained loyal to Júbilo Iwata throughout his career, retiring from professional football in 1995.

Yoshida also had a notable international career, representing the Japan men's national football team from 1988 to 1993. He earned 35 caps and scored 2 goals, making his international debut in a friendly match against China on June 2, 1988. One of his career highlights was being part of the Japan team that won the 1992 Asian Cup, where he played in two matches during the tournament.

Coaching Career

After retiring as a player, Yoshida transitioned into coaching, starting his career at Júbilo Iwata in 2001. He primarily served as a coach for the top team and later took on the role of manager for the youth team until 2009, continuing to influence the next generation of footballers.
