Early Life

Nobutoshi Kaneda was born on February 16, 1958, in Fuchu, Hiroshima, Japan. He pursued his education at Chuo University, where he honed his skills in football, setting the stage for a remarkable athletic career.

Career

Kaneda began his professional journey in football when he joined Nissan Motors SC in 1980. Over the course of his eleven-year tenure with the club, he made a significant impact, playing 157 games and scoring 21 goals. His contributions helped the team secure the Emperor's Cup in 1983 and 1985, and from 1988 to 1990, Nissan Motors achieved a historic feat by winning all three major titles in Japan: the Japan Soccer League, the JSL Cup, and the Emperor's Cup for two consecutive seasons. Kaneda was recognized for his exceptional performance by being selected as one of the Best Eleven in 1983.

In addition to his club success, Kaneda also had a notable international career. He debuted for the Japan men's national football team on June 15, 1977, at the young age of 19, scoring a goal against South Korea, which made him the youngest goal scorer in the team's history. He represented Japan in the 1978 and 1982 Asian Games, ultimately playing 58 matches and scoring 6 goals for his country until 1984. Kaneda's legacy in Japanese football is marked by his skillful play as a midfielder and his contributions to the national team.
