Pedro Virgilio Rocha Franchetti was born in Uruguay in 1942 and became a prominent figure in the world of football. Known for his exceptional skills on the field, he earned the nickname "el Verdugo" due to his lethal scoring ability. Career

Rocha's professional career spanned several decades, during which he played for numerous clubs across South America. He started with Club Atlético Peñarol from 1959 to 1970, where he won multiple Primera División titles and the prestigious Copa Libertadores. His prowess on the field was recognized internationally, and he represented the Uruguay national team from 1961 to 1974, earning 52 caps and participating in significant tournaments, including the Copa América, which he won in 1967.

After his successful stint in Uruguay, Rocha continued his career in Brazil with São Paulo FC, where he won the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A in 1977, and later played for clubs like Sociedade Esportiva Palmeiras and Coritiba F.C.
