Early Life

Raúl Asencio del Rosario was born on February 13, 2003, in Las Palmas, Canary Islands. He began his football journey at a young age, starting his youth career with local team Veteranos del Pilar before moving to Las Palmas. At just thirteen, he joined the prestigious youth academy of La Liga club Real Madrid, setting the stage for his future in professional football.

Career

Asencio's professional career began with a brief stint at RSC Internacional FC during the 2022-2023 season. He then returned to Real Madrid, where he played for their reserve team, Real Madrid Castilla, and quickly established himself as a key player. His impressive performances caught the attention of the first team, and in the 2024-25 season, he was promoted to La Liga following injuries to key defenders David Alaba and Éder Militão. Asencio made his La Liga debut on November 9, 2024, in a 4-0 victory against Osasuna, and just two weeks later, he started in a 3-0 win over Leganés. He scored his first goal for Real Madrid on January 4, 2026, in a commanding 5-1 victory against Real Betis.

International Career
