Ramón Medina Bello

Early Life

Ramón Ismael Medina Bello, affectionately known as El Mencho, was born in Gualeguay, Entre Ríos, Argentina. His journey into professional football began in 1986 when he joined Racing Club de Avellaneda, where he quickly made a name for himself as a talented forward.

Career

Medina Bello's career took off at Racing Club, and by 1989, he was transferred to the prestigious Club Atlético River Plate. During his time at River Plate, he became an integral part of the team, contributing to their success in the Primera División and the Copa Libertadores. His prowess on the field earned him a spot on the Argentina national team, where he played from 1991 to 1994, including appearances in the 1994 FIFA World Cup and winning the Copa América in 1991 and 1993.

After his successful stint in Argentina, Medina Bello ventured to Japan, playing for Yokohama F. Marinos from 1994 to 1996. He returned to River Plate for a brief period before finishing his career at Talleres de Córdoba in 1999. Even after retiring, he made a comeback in 2001 with Sportivo Dock Sud and played for Juventud Unida in 2005 before hanging up his boots for good.
