Early Life

Ryoko Uno was born on November 9, 1975, in Sagamihara, Japan. From a young age, she showed a passion for football, which would lead her to a remarkable career in the sport.

Career

Uno began her professional journey in 1990 when she joined Yomiuri Beleza, a club that would later be known as NTV Beleza. During her time with the club, she contributed to an impressive four consecutive L.League championships until 1993. Her exceptional skills on the field earned her a spot on the Best Eleven for three consecutive years from 1991 to 1993. In 2000, she transitioned to YKK Tohoku Ladies SC Flappers, which later became TEPCO Mareeze, where she continued to showcase her talent until her retirement in 2007.

In addition to her club success, Uno made significant contributions to the Japan women's national football team. She was selected for the national team at just 15 years old, making her debut on June 3, 1991, during the AFC Championship against Singapore. Throughout her international career, she participated in the 1993 AFC Championship and was a member of the squad for the 1995 World Cup, playing a total of six games for Japan until 1996.
