Early Life

Saori Ariyoshi was born on November 1, 1987, in Saga, Japan. Her passion for football led her to pursue the sport academically at Nippon Sport Science University, where she began to hone her skills as a defender.

Club Career

Ariyoshi made her professional debut in the L.League in 2008 with TEPCO Mareeze while still in university. After graduating, she joined Nippon TV Tokyo Verdy Beleza in 2010, where she quickly established herself as a key player. Her exceptional performance earned her a spot in the Best Eleven for four consecutive years from 2013 to 2016, showcasing her talent and consistency on the field.

International Career

In February 2012, Ariyoshi was selected for the Japan national team for the Algarve Cup, marking the beginning of her international career. She made her debut against Norway on February 29, 2012. Over the years, she represented Japan in several prestigious tournaments, including the 2014 Asian Cup, where Japan won the championship, and the 2015 World Cup, where they finished as runners-up. Throughout her international career, she played 63 matches and scored one goal, also being recognized as a candidate for the Golden Ball during the 2015 World Cup. Ariyoshi continued to contribute to the national team, participating in the 2018 Asian Cup, where Japan secured their second consecutive title.
