Satoshi Otomo

Early Life

Satoshi Erasmo Ōtomo was born to a Japanese father and a Filipino mother from Zamboanga, blending two rich cultures from an early age. This multicultural background would later influence his identity as a professional athlete.

Career

Otomo began his football career in Japan, playing for Vegalta Sendai from 2000 to 2002. He then moved to Sagan Tosu for a brief period in 2003 before joining Yokohama FC from 2004 to 2005. His journey continued as he played for several clubs, including FC Gifu (2007-2009), Blaublitz Akita (2006), and Persib Bandung (2009-2010). In 2011, he made a significant move to Persela Lamongan, followed by stints at Bontang FC and Ayeyawady United F.C. He returned to the Philippines to play for Global Cebu F.C. and later Yokogawa Musashino FC. His career culminated with the Manila All-Japan F.C. starting in 2016.

Otomo also represented the Philippines men's national team, making his debut on November 9, 2014, in a friendly match against Thailand. His role as a midfielder showcased his versatility and skill on the field, contributing to the growth of football in the Philippines.
