Early Life

Shunsuke Ando is a Japanese former footballer known for his role as a goalkeeper. His journey in football began in Japan, where he developed his skills and passion for the sport, eventually leading him to professional play.

Career

Ando's professional career took off when he joined Kawasaki Frontale in 2009, where he played until 2013. During this time, he made significant contributions to the team, helping them secure multiple titles, including the J1 League championships in 2017, 2018, 2020, and 2021, as well as the Japanese Super Cup in 2024. In 2013, he briefly played for Shonan Bellmare before transitioning to international play.

On the international stage, Ando represented Japan at various levels. He was a member of the Japan national under-23 football team from 2010 to 2012 and participated in the 2010 Asian Games held in Guangzhou, China. His notable achievement came in July 2012 when he was selected for the Japan Olympic football team for the 2012 Summer Olympics, where Japan finished in fourth place, although he did not play in the matches as he was the reserve goalkeeper behind Shuichi Gonda.
