Takeshi Aoki

Early Life

Takeshi Aoki was born on September 28, 1982, in Takasaki, Japan. His passion for football began at a young age, leading him to pursue a career in the sport. After completing high school, Aoki took a significant step in his football journey by joining the J1 League club Kashima Antlers in 2001.

Career

Aoki quickly established himself as a talented midfielder, primarily playing as a defensive midfielder. In his debut season with Kashima Antlers, he contributed to the team's success, helping them secure the J1 League championship and the J.League Cup in 2001 and 2002, respectively. His consistent performances earned him a regular spot in the starting lineup from the 2003 season onward. Aoki played a crucial role in the Antlers' resurgence, as they won the J1 League title again in 2007, followed by the Emperor's Cup. The team continued its dominance, clinching the J1 League championship for three consecutive years from 2007 to 2009.

As his career progressed, Aoki transitioned to playing as a center back and continued to contribute to the team's achievements, including winning the Emperor's Cup in 2010 and the J.League Cup in 2011 and 2012. However, by 2016, his playing time diminished, leading to a move to Sagan Tosu, where he played for two seasons before joining Roasso Kumamoto in 2018 and later Nankatsu SC in 2019.

National Team Career

Aoki's talent was recognized at the international level when he was selected for the Japan U-20 national team for the 2001 World Youth Championship, where he played all three matches as a defensive midfielder. He made his senior debut for the Japan men's national football team on August 20, 2008, in a friendly match against Uruguay, marking a significant milestone in his international career.
