Takuji Yonemoto

Early Life and Background

Takuji Yonemoto is a Japanese footballer known for his role as a defensive midfielder. His journey in football began at a young age, and he quickly made a name for himself in youth competitions. In 2007, he was selected to represent the Japan national under-17 football team, where he showcased his skills on an international stage during the U-17 World Cup, playing in two matches.

Professional Career

Yonemoto's professional career took off when he joined FC Tokyo in 2009, where he played until 2018. During his time with FC Tokyo, he developed his skills and gained valuable experience in the J1 League. In 2010, he made his full international debut for the Japan men's national football team in a qualifier for the 2011 AFC Asian Cup against Yemen. His performances earned him further recognition, leading to additional call-ups for training camps and competitions, including the 2015 EAFF East Asian Cup.

After his tenure at FC Tokyo, Yonemoto continued to play at a competitive level, joining FC Tokyo U-23 in 2017 and later moving to Nagoya Grampus in 2019. He also had a brief stint with Shonan Bellmare in 2022. As of now, he plays for Kyoto Sanga, contributing his experience and skills to the team in the J1 League.
