Ichihashi's football career was marked by his selection for the Japan men's national football team in 1930. This opportunity arose while he was still a student at Keio University. He made his debut on May 25, 1930, during the Far Eastern Championship Games held in Tokyo, where he scored a goal against the Philippines, contributing to Japan's victory in the championship. He played a total of two matches for the national team, scoring one goal, and also faced the Republic of China in the tournament. His position on the field was that of a forward, showcasing his offensive skills and ability to find the back of the net.
