Yoshikawa's professional career kicked off in 1980 when he joined Hitachi, where he played until 1992. During his time at Hitachi, he developed his skills as a midfielder, becoming a key player for the team. In 1992, he transitioned to Kyoto Shiko, which later became known as Kyoto Purple Sanga. After a brief stint, he moved to Kyoiku Kenkyusya, which would eventually be renamed FC Kyoken, where he continued to showcase his talent until his retirement in 2000.
In addition to his club career, Yoshikawa made his mark on the international stage. He debuted for the Japan men's national football team on February 12, 1983, in a match against Syria, representing his country with pride during his short national team career.
