Career

Hatta's football career began with Osaka SC, a club formed by graduates of his alma mater high school. This team was notable for including several prominent players who would later represent the Japan national team, such as Yoshimatsu Oyama, Toshio Miyaji, Sakae Takahashi, and Kiyonosuke Marutani. Hatta's skills as a midfielder soon caught the attention of national selectors.

In May 1925, Hatta was selected to represent the Japan national team at the Far Eastern Championship Games held in Manila. He made his debut on May 17, 1925, in a match against the Philippines, followed by another game against the Republic of China on May 20. Unfortunately, Japan faced defeats in both matches, losing 0-4 to the Philippines and 0-2 to the Republic of China. Despite the losses, Hatta's contributions to the team were significant, as he played in both games during the tournament.
