Yasuo Takamori

Early Life

Yasuo Takamori was born on March 3, 1934, in Okayama Prefecture, Japan. He pursued his education at Rikkyo University, where he developed his passion for football, laying the groundwork for his future career in the sport.

Career

Takamori began his professional football journey in 1956 when he joined Nippon Kokan, later known as NKK SC, where he played until 1968. During his time with the club, he contributed significantly to their promotion to the Japan Soccer League in 1967, participating in 28 league matches. His national team career was equally impressive; he debuted for the Japan men's national football team on January 2, 1955, while still a student at Rikkyo University, in a match against Burma. Over the years, he represented Japan in various international competitions, including the 1956 Summer Olympics in Melbourne and the Asian Games in 1958 and 1962, earning a total of 30 caps until 1963.

In addition to his playing career, Takamori took on the role of a playing manager in 1962, leading Nippon Kokan while still on the field. His leadership helped the team secure a place in the Japan Soccer League, although he stepped down from his managerial position at the end of the 1966 season.
