Hiroji Imamura

Early Life

Hiroji Imamura was born on April 27, 1949, in Koka, Japan. He developed a passion for football at a young age, which led him to pursue a career in the sport after graduating from high school.

Career

Imamura began his professional football journey in 1968 when he joined Yanmar Diesel, where he played as a winger. During his time at the club, he formed a notable partnership with Kunishige Kamamoto, assisting him in scoring numerous goals. Imamura's contributions helped Yanmar Diesel secure league championships in 1971, 1974, 1975, and 1980. Over his career, he played 230 games and scored 60 goals before retiring in 1983.

In addition to his club success, Imamura also represented the Japan men's national football team. He made his debut on August 8, 1976, in a match against India and went on to play four games for the national team that year. His brief but impactful international career showcased his skills on a larger stage, contributing to the development of football in Japan.
