Formation
Associazione Calcio Monza, commonly known as Monza, was founded on September 1, 1912, in the Cappello Vecchio trattoria, resulting from the merger of two local clubs, Pro Italia and Pro Monza. The club's first headquarters was established in the Roma coffeehouse in Monza, and they initially donned blue and white kits. Monza's inaugural match was against a team from Milan, and they celebrated their first victory on September 20, 1912, defeating Juventus Italia 2–1. The club quickly made its mark by winning the Coppa Colli in early 1913.
In November 1913, Monza FBC merged with Juventus FBC to officially become Associazione Calcio Monza. They began competing in the Terza Categoria during the 1913–14 season, with their first match resulting in a loss against Fanfulla. Despite the disruptions caused by World War I, Monza managed to continue playing with younger athletes, showcasing their resilience during challenging times.
Career Progression
Monza's journey through the ranks of Italian football saw them compete in various leagues, including Serie C and Serie B. They achieved notable success in Serie C, winning the league four times between 1950 and 2020. The club also had a strong presence in the Coppa Italia Serie C, where they hold the record for the most wins, with four titles. Their persistence paid off when they secured promotion to Serie A, the top tier of Italian football, after winning the Serie B play-offs in the 2025–26 season.

In November 1913, Monza FBC merged with Juventus FBC (a group of athletes formerly part of the Forti e Liberi sports club) to form Associazione Calcio Monza. Monza first competed in Terza Categoria (third level) in the 1913–14 season; they played their first match on 4 January 1914, losing 3–1 at home against Fanfulla. The following season, Monza took part in the Promozione (second level), finishing fourth in their group of six.
