Early Life

Osamu Maeda was born on September 5, 1965, in Fukuoka, Japan. He pursued his education at Tokai University, where he honed his skills in football, setting the stage for a promising career in the sport.

Career

Maeda began his professional journey in 1988 when he joined All Nippon Airways, which later became known as Yokohama Flügels. In his first season, he made a significant impact by helping the team secure a second-place finish in the league and earning a spot in the Best Eleven. Over the years, he contributed to the club's success, including winning the Emperor's Cup in 1993 and the Asian Cup Winners' Cup and Asian Super Cup in 1994 and 1995, respectively. His tenure with Yokohama Flügels lasted until 1996, when he decided to retire from professional football.

In addition to his club career, Maeda also represented the Japan men's national football team. He made his debut on January 27, 1988, against the United Arab Emirates and quickly became a regular player. He participated in the qualification rounds for the 1990 World Cup, ultimately playing 14 matches and scoring 6 goals for his country until 1989.
